The Woods at Grassy Creek

WGC homeowners benefit from living in a neighborhood with access to amenities such as the swimming pool, playgrounds and entertainment areas without the direct responsibility for upkeep. In order for this community to maintain home values and shared space/amenities, we require the dedication of a group of volunteer board and at-large members to keep everything running behind the scenes. 
 
We’re actively looking for new board members to help guide and run this community into the future. Please complete and submit this form if you have interest in joining, and learn more about how you can make a greater impact within WGC. Don’t be fooled by only one opening listed below; we’re ALWAYS interested in new voices, skills and energy to help make WGC a great place to live.

Update (posted on Facebook page earlier this evening): Just heard back from the pool vendor, and we are in the clear! UFOs (unidentified funky objects) in the deep end of the pool were identified chunks of mud and rocks, but we’d much rather the professionals confirm than take any chances with homeowners’ health. They did clean the pool for a second time today, and we’ll reopen tomorrow am at the usual time (9am).

The pool is closed at this time! Someone left or allowed their child to leave excrement in the large pool, and it now has to been drained and cleaned before reopening. The entrance has been chained and padlocked until service has been completed and we are clear to reopen! We will make everyone aware when the pool is back open.

Neighborhood event on June 26, 2021. 100% neighbor planned without sponsorship from the HOA. Please send an email to the WGC email, and we can forward to the planners to get an accurate attendee count! Hope to see you all there!

Good afternoon all!

Looks like the weather isn’t going to be favorable to hold our meeting tomorrow evening. Accordingly, we’ll switch to the planned “Rain Date” for the meeting: Thursday, May 20 at 6:30 p.m.

Our planned agenda for that meeting is as follows:

• 2021 Pool update and discussion
• Upcoming neighborhood event announcement
• Follow-up on various neighborhood requests
• Open discussion

Sorry for the delay in getting this message on the website…it’s much easier to add a quick note to the Facebook page behind the scenes on work calls vs. having to switch floors/laptops to create and publish WGC site posts.

For those of you that received Spring violation letters OR if you’re just looking to spruce up your mailbox, this week is our annual discount week with Otto’s Streetscape. The Otto’s discount flyer is linked in, and orders must be received by Otto’s by end of business, Friday, April 30, to receive the discount.

IMPORTANT: Those that received mailbox violations in March must have their mailbox maintenance complete by Monday, May 31!

We’re happy to announce that the WGC pool WILL open as planned over Memorial Day weekend, on Saturday, May 29. In the next two weeks, you will see our pool vendor begin the process of getting the pool water, mechanics, etc. up and running for our opening date.

We are still waiting on final direction from the city/county on restrictions that might still be in place for opening. Accordingly, for those interested, we’d recommend attending our new bi-annual HOA meeting, which will be held:

Tuesday, May 18 @ 6:30 p.m. (rain date, May 20)
At the pool house
Reminder signage will be placed in the entrances at the beginning of May

At that meeting, we’ll talk about pool specifics and reiterate each WGC homeowners’ responsibility related to pool use, etc. as well as provide updates/previews of other topics that will be discussed during the remainder of 2021.

New/Replacement Pool Keys: Also, any homeowners that need a new pool key due to loss ($25/replacement fee) or being new to the neighborhood (no cost), please plan to attend the May 18 meeting to get your key. If you are unable to attend the meeting on that date, please email woodsatgrassycreek@gmail.com to request keys, and we will work with you to get the request fulfilled as soon as possible close to the pool opening date.

A new bi-annual HOA meeting is now scheduled for Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at 6:30 p.m. (rain date: Thursday, May 20…same time) at the pool house. Please join us to hear pool updates, as well as a preview/update on other topics important to WGC homeowners. Prior to 2021, only one annual meeting was held in the fall to discuss budgetary issues for the following year; however, to increase opportunity for dialogue and transparency within the HOA, this mid-year meeting has been added.

Website/Facebook page posts and entrance signage will be forthcoming in early May to remind homeowners of this meeting.
